Obituary Notice

Gerald “Jerry” Dewayne Spencer, 81, of Twining, Michigan passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 5, 2018 at his home.

Jerry was born July 20, 1937 in Whittemore, Michigan to the late Jack and Marion Spencer. He married the former Patricia Keltner on March 9, 1968 in Twining, Michigan and together they began their family raising one son, Mark. Jerry had been employed by DeFoe Shipyard in Bay City, Detroit News and Free Press and St. Mary’s of Michigan Standish Hospital until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church. Jerry spent many a long day watching the Lions and Tigers, mowing grass and enjoying his time driving the local roads. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; son, Mark (Kelly) Spencer; grandchildren, Paxton and Jack Spencer; brother Edward “Eddie” (Barbara) Spencer, sister Marilyn Nickell, brother-in-law Norman (Phyllis) Keltner, sister-in-law Neva “Kay” (Herb) Keeley, many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Lady.


Visitation for Jerry will take place 4-8:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2018 and 10-11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Buresh Funeral Home, 15 West Maple Ridge Road, Twining, Michigan 48766. Elder Ronald Rousse will officiate with interment to follow in Saints Cemetery in Whittemore, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
