Obituary Notice

George C. Botos, Sr.

Age 73, of Tawas City, MI died on Monday, November 6, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Saginaw, MI.  He was born in Hamtramck, MI on November 26, 1943 to the late George and Elizabeth Botos (nee Duma).  George graduated from Hazel Park High School in 1961 and entered the United State Air Force.  His career spanned 20 years until he retired as a Tech Sergeant in 1981.  George enjoyed watching war movies, sports, reading and playing bingo and casino games on the computer.  He is survived by his 5 children, Elizabeth (David) Thompson of Hazel Park, MI, Georgette  Abad of Tawas City, MI, Georgina Botos of Tawas City, MI, George (Colleen) Botos of East Tawas, MI, Suzanne (Scott) Thompson of Tawas City, MI; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  George is also survived by his 3 sisters, Judi (Stan) Zawada of Imlay City, MI, Nora (Bill) O’Rourke of Fort Myers, FL, Patti Daust of Farmington Hills, MI and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Hildegard Botos in 2013. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 – 11:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas, MI.  Interment will be in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery.
