Fred was born August 3, 1943 in Wyandotte, Michigan to the late Herman W. and Margaret E. (Gilsdorf) Schiller. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1961. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force on February 15, 1962 and proudly served until his honorable discharge on February 14, 1968. He was a proud member of the Austin Hunting Club in Atlanta, Michigan that his grandfather and four friends (the 5 Bullheads) founded. Fred most surely loved the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, duck or pheasant hunting, you could find him in his glory. In addition to his love of the outdoors, he adored his grandchildren and spending time with them.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, Claudia, whom he married on February 11, 1981; children, Danny (Lisa) Schiller, Wendy (Mike) Nichols, Tera (Clay) Albert and Erin (Michael Baldwin) Duby; grandchildren, Gabe, Megann, Courtney, Rhianna, Lauren, Addy, Christian, Myera, Morgan; great grandson, Troy; brother, Ricky (Tanya) Mexicotte; sisters, Sharon Coogan and Kathy (Ken) Garvin. In addition to his parents, Frederick was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Schiller.
According to Fred’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life with military honors will take place at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Buresh Funeral Home, 212 West River Road, Oscoda, Michigan 48750.
