Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the East Tawas Church of the Nazarene at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jerry Wallace officiating. Her family will welcome friends at church Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service.

Esther M. Ledsworth (Schlack)

Age 98, of Tawas City, Michigan passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Iosco County Medical Care Facility. She was born in Port Hope, Michigan on May 26, 1919 to Ernest and Cora (Fankhauser) Schlack.

Esther worked for the Iosco County Medical Care Facility from 1966 -1988 as their dietary manager. She enjoyed being a member of the Quota Club since 1970. She was an active member of the church and church board of the East Tawas Church of the Nazarene.

She enjoyed feeding her ducks in the river, gardening and her flowers. Esther, was a passionate Detroit Tigers fan and faithfully watched or listened to every game she could!

Esther is survived by her son Dennis of Allendale, Michigan and her daughter Doreen (Roy) Pagel of Waterford. Three grandchildren; Jonathan (Jessica) Ledsworth, Daniel Pagel and Michele. Brother, Rolie (Marilyn) Schlack. Nephews Roger and Craig and nieces Gail, Sue and Lori. Esther will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

Esther was preceded in death by husband Raymond, son Donald, daughter-in-law Marguerite, sister Everine (Charles) Eckenrode and brother Warren (Catherine) Schlack, parents Ernest and Cora Schlack.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the East Tawas Church of the Nazarene at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jerry Wallace officiating. Her family will welcome friends at church Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Tawas City, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Condolences may be shared at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the East Tawas Church of the Nazarene in her name. Esther’s family would like to extend a very heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Iosco County Medical Care Facility, Heartland Hospice, and Pastor Jerry Wallace for all of the love, kindness, and caring compassion each of you have given to her and the family during this time.
