Eric John Valent, 33, of Whittemore, Mich., passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 5, 2014.
Eric, better known as, “Uncle E”, “EV”, and “Little Rico”, lived every moment to the fullest, loved everyone he met and left a smile on their hearts. He enjoyed the thrill of competition, whether it was three fast turns on his Pony, sliding through the curves in his blue & white go-cart, or the famous #11 seen on the 4-cylinder factory stock. He raced every minute to the finish line! Eric was an adventurous outdoorsman from fishing, hunting, sailing, deep sea diving, sky diving, or exploring on his motorcycle. Eric loved every moment of his 33 years of life!
He worked hard to be able to play hard. He could run a machine, direct a crew, sail a boat, or build anything that you needed. Eric was a generous soul who would change his plans in a heart-beat to help out family or friends in need. He leaves behind many cousins, friends across the country and a legacy that will race on forever.
Eric was a beloved son to Ricky and Theresa “Teri” (Hewett) Valent of Whittemore; devoted brother of Cynthia and Stoffer Cowles of Lewiston; and the fun uncle of Carlene and Krista Cowles; devoted grandson to Viola Valent of Whittemore; nephew to Dan & Linda Valent of Whittemore, Richard & Donna Miracle of Whittemore, James & Gloria Hoffman of Sandusky, Gary & Judy Streeter of Missouri, Nancy Hewett of Whittemore.
Eric was preceded in death by grandparents, John Valent, Earl & Jennie Hewett; aunts, Karen Blanchard and Marlene Hewett; uncles Dave Hewett, Dick & Ann Hewett; cousins, Jason Pace and Ricky Voss.
Visitation for Eric will take place Monday, December 8, 2014 from 2-8 p.m. at the Twining Chapel of the Buresh Funeral Home, 15 W. Maple Ridge Road and again on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be dispersed to the charity of choice at a later date. Online condolences may be offered at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com
