Elizabeth Ann Allen, age 79, of East Tawas, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at The Villa of West Branch. She was born on December 31, 1938 in Saginaw to Lawrence & Louise (Cottrell) Heath of Millington. She married Darold Allen on June 27, 1959. He preceded her in death in 2004.
She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved to see them and hear their stories. She would always get a big smile every time they would visit. She enjoyed the outdoors and liked to fish, hunt and go berry picking. She also liked to have a garden in her younger years. She worked many jobs in her lifetime, but she liked being a wife, mother and grandmother most of all. She was a woman of many talents. She could play a piano, a double keyboard organ and an accordion. She could run a drag car with the best of them and even beat her husband in a race once. She would crochet hats, scarfs, mittens and blankets for all of us. She would make sure the cookie jar had cookies in it for the kids to “steal”, they thought they were being sneaky. She was not perfect, but she sure was perfect for us. She did many things in her lifetime, but what she did best was steal our hearts. Each one of us is missing a piece that she took with her, but she gave all of us a piece of hers to replace it with in return. She was dearly loved by us all, and she will be dearly missed by us all too.
Elizabeth is survived by her children, Connie Stewart of Ypsilanti, Nancy (Robert) Dombrowski of Edenville, Steve (Rebecca) Allen of South Branch; grandchildren, Thomas (Julie) Stewart, Jeremy (Danielle) Stewart, Katrina (Billy) Slonaker, Emily Dombrowski, Eric Dombrowski, Steven (Cassandra) Allen, Frankie Allen, Christian Allen, Ian Allen; great grandchildren, Bairne Vera, Addison Lenz, Cassidy Stewrat, Azariah Stewart, Nicholas Stewart, Alexander Stewart, Alyssa Sloanaker, Haylee Slonaker, and Levi Allen; brother, Harold (Johnnie) Heath of Georgia.
Visitation will take place on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 10 am to 12 noon at the Hale Chapel of the Buresh Funeral Home.
