Edward Thomas Trudell, of East Tawas, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 in Tawas City, age 81 years. Ed was born in Tawas City on December 27, 1936 to Theodore and Augusta (Cadorette) Trudell Sr. He was a graduate of Tawas Area High School in the class of 1956. After high school, Ed went to work for Straits Aggregate and then transitioned to D&M Railroad. He worked for the railroad over 30 years! Even after Ed retired from the railroad, he was always as a gentleman who would practically do anything he could to help someone out. He loved being outdoors, and especially just spending time on his tractor, cutting grass, snow plowing, or simply riding around. He married his wife and best friend, Gail Patricia (McDonald) on March 17, 1956, and they celebrated nearly 53 beautiful years of marriage together before Gail's passing in 2009. Ed and Gail would enjoy to take their children on camping vacations in their younger years, creating so many fun memories! Ed was a life time member and Past President of the Tawas Bay Eagles #2588; also a long standing member of the East Tawas Knights of Columbus #2709, the Father Neuman Knights of Columbus Assembly Fourth Degree, and the Tawas Moose Lodge #2525. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Ed is survived by his 3 loving children, Jo-Dee (Ken) Skorupski of Commerce Township, Rita Trudell (Dean Timreck) of East Tawas, and Tom (Terri) Trudell of East Tawas; 6 grandchildren, Dale and Chris Dykes, Jennifer, Ken, and Jerrod Skorupski, Patrick and Alex Erwin; 4 great grandchildren, Grace and Hazel Dykes, Avery Jay Ruggles, and Patrick Zappa Erwin; 2 brothers, Ted Trudell of Tawas City, Ron (Sharon) Trudell of East Tawas; sister in law, Joanne McDonald of East Tawas; and many dear friends. Ed is preceded in death by his wife, Gail, a daughter, Pamela Dykes, and a sister, Patsy Yanna. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and his family will celebrate his life through a memorial gathering at the Tawas Bay Eagles on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM.
