Obituary Notice

Edward T. Compau, age 85, of Hale, MI, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the Medilodge of Tawas City. He was born on November 9, 1932 in Flint, MI to Louis & Anita (Gudritz) Compau. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a mason with Kueffner Masonry of Frankenmuth. He married Dona Suzanne Hubbell on May 12, 1951 and they recently celebrated 67 years of wedded bliss. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hale and the Lutheran Men’s Group. He enjoyed bowling, woodworking, and reading western novels.

Edward is survived by his wife, Suzanne of Hale; children, Constance (William) Fowler of Hale, Andrew (Deborah) Compau of Hale, Karen (Robert) Dailey of Hale; grandchildren, Joshua (Mary) Fowler of Dallas, GA, Krista (Kevin) Wormwood of Marion, IA, Amanda (Jeremy) Golden of Birch Run, MI, Jaimie (Eric) Chrivia of Camp Lejeune, NC, Drew Compau of Hale, Corrie (Paul) Vining of Petoskey, MI, Mitchell (Jennifer) Sauseda of Petoskey, MI, Robbie (Whitney) Dailey of Sparks, NV; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Bonnie) Compau of WA. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Allan, Arthur, & Gerald.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Buresh Funeral Home in Hale with the funeral service following the visitation at 1:00 pm with Jimmie Adams officiating. Interment will be in the Esmond-Evergreen Cemetery in Hale. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hale.
