Visitation for Edward will take place 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 with funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Buresh Funeral Home, 101  Harrison, Prescott, Michigan 48756.  Pastor Randy Lighter will officiate and interment will follow with military honors in Selkirk Cemetery in West Branch, Michigan.

Obituary Notice

Edward "Cowboy" Noakes, Jr., 80, passed away Saturday evening, December 2, 2017 at his home with family by his side. Edward was born November 30, 1937 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania to the late Edward and Dorothy (Harshman) Noakes Sr.  Edward proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1955 -1957.  He married the former Joann Candea.  Edward was a millwright by trade for General Motors until his retirement.  He was a member of the Auxilary Police Department in Taylor, Michigan, Special Dept. of Flint, Michigan, a Shriner and a Mason, and F.O.P.  Edward enjoyed gardening and lawn care, tinkering with mechanics and visiting friends. Edward is survived by his sons, Chuck Noakes of Romulus, Michigan and Daryl Noakes of Dearborn Heights, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Andrea Noakes of West Branch, Michigan; brothers, Earl Noakes and Richard Noakes; grandchildren, Audrick Noakes and Seth Lyon.  In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Joann, son, Christopher Noakes, and two brothers, Harold Noakes and Eugene Noakes.  Visitation for Edward will take place 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 with funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Buresh Funeral Home, 101  Harrison, Prescott, Michigan 48756.  Pastor Randy Lighter will officiate and interment will follow with military honors in Selkirk Cemetery in West Branch, Michigan.  Online condolences may be made to the family at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
