Obituary Notice

Dorothy Mae Fitzgerald, age 88 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 17, 2016. She was born on April 6, 1928, the second daughter of the late Clarence and Lena (Boyer) Walter. Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Twining until two years ago when she became a resident of Medilodge in Sterling. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother that enjoyed her home and gardening. She worked at a variety of jobs throughout her life part time to help raise her four sons, but always coming back to being the heart of the home. Surviving family are her sons Robert (Elaine) Fitzgerald, Randy (Mary) Fitzgerald, David (Tracy) Fitzgerald; daughter in law, Cindy Fitzgerald; 13 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; two sisters, Lourene Bellor and Betty (Ray) White; several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Cecil Fitzgerald; two sons, Charles (Chuck) Fitzgerald and Daniel Fitzgerald; one grandson, Phillip Fitzgerald; brother, Frank Walter; and brother-in-law, Elmer "Bob" Bellor. Funeral services will be held at the Buresh Funeral Home in Twining on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 1:00 PM with Rick Rockwell officiating. Her family will welcome friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in the Cedar Valley Cemetery immediately following the service.
