I was so very sorry to hear about the passing of Dottie. We both shared responsibility as Finance Officers for our respective American Legion Posts in the Ogemaw County. My name is Michael Lyne from Ireland and I would like to pass on my sympathy on Dorothy's death to her entire family. I am a 2nd cousin of Dorothy's, living in Ballinskelligs, Ireland, where her grandfather Denis Lyne was reared and where her father Michael was born before the family emigrated to Rhode Island in 1904. Dorothy's grandmother, Nora Kelly, also came from Ballinskelligs. I have some work done on the Lyne family tree and would love to share it with you, Dorothy's family, and if possible fill in the missing gaps. I know that this is a sad time for you all, coming to terms with Dorothy's death. In due course I would love to make contact with you her family. My email address is
Yours in Sympathy, Michael Lyne.

Today is August 10th. I found Dottie's obituary yesterday. Dottie has been one of my dearest friends since we met in Germany in 1960. She was one of the most loving and jolly people I knew. She was always fun to be with. She lived near us while Mike was in Vietnam and Michael was born. We stayed in touch over the years. The last 3 years she did not write, but I knew she was alive, because my letters to her were not returned. i worried and wondered about her, tried to call, but phone number was no longer in use any more.
Although I have not seen her physically in years I will miss her and her letters.
Our deepest Sympathy to her entire family. We have all lost a wonderful person.
