I am deeply saddened to hear the news of Dave's passing and my heartfelt condolences go out to his wife Mona and all of Dave's family. Dave was one of a very few guys in both in Jr High and Sr High School I considered to be "close and best friends." I remember when Dave ran to be President of Student Council at Brake Jr. High School. He asked me to be his "Campaign Manager," I was honored and we spent hours together handwriting flyers and making cardboard campaign badges . Dave one that election by a single vote.
Dave was a brilliant student and a gifted musician who played 1st First Chair trumpet at both Brake and JFK. I will hold Dave's memory fondly in my remaining days.
— Michael Connelly
Dave was also one of my closest friends since 7th grade. A couple of band geeks who used to quiz each other on the periodic table of elements while riding our bicycles. We also stood next to each other on the marching field in band. It was an honor to be his best man when he and Mona got married. I wish we would have seen each other more later in life.
— Dennis Malec
Mona we are so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. He was a brilliant and talented man and obviously loved you very much. We feel fortunate to have reconnected at the reunion. Please know that we are only a phone call away if you need us.

Mona, so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. Dennis Malec just got the news from Mike Connelly and passed it on to me. Dave got me a job with Butler Aviation which along with debate changed the course of my life dramatically. Wish we had stayed in better contact after high school. You and Dave are two of the nicest and smartest people I've known.
