Funeral service for Darrell at the funeral home will be for family only beginning at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2021. A graveside ceremony for everyone to attend beginning at 3:00 p.m. will be held at Saints Cemetery, M-65, Whittemore, Michigan. Pastor Gary L. Gillings will officiate.
Darrell Dean Nickell, age 69, of National City, Michigan passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan after a brief illness.
Darrell was born November 20, 1951 in Flint, Michigan to William and Bonnie Jean (Kauffman) Nickell. He had a passion for gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.
Darrell is survived by his three children; Floyd (Ashley) Nickell, Shandra (Beaver) Currie and Heather Northrup; five grandchildren, Dakota, Paige, Kenny, Weston, and Avery; sisters, Jeanie (Bill) Squires, Dar Tripp, Linda Nickell and Polly (Dick) Groff; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bonnie; brother, Floydy Nickell and numerous other family members.
Visitation for family and friends will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Buresh Funeral Home, 15 West Maple Ridge Road, Twining, Michigan. Funeral ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. for family only. A graveside ceremony for everyone will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Saints Cemetery in Whittemore, Michigan. Pastor Gary L.
