Dale Allen “Butch” Lilley, 72, of Glennie passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, November 7, 2019. Dale was born on February 8, 1947 in Curtis Township to Charles Owen Lilley, Sr. and Beulah M. (Healy) Lilley. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1966 and served for two years in Vietnam. Dale worked for General Motors Metalfab Plant in Flint, Michigan and returned to his hometown of Glennie, Michigan, upon retiring from GM.
Dale enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening on the Lilley property. He read all the Louis L’Amour books, just like his dad before him, and every day he worked on the crossword and sudoku puzzles from the newspaper. But what brought him the most joy were his grandkids and great-grandkids, of whom he was so very proud.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, by his brother, Charles Owen “Skip” Lilley, Jr., of Glennie, and by his brother-in-law, Auberry “Hank” Grush of Traverse City.
Dale is survived by his children, Stacy Lilley (Austin Daniels) of Springfield, Missouri and Glenn (Christy) Lilley of Clio, Michigan; grandchildren Vera (Dan) Pendleton, Yvonne Lilley (Brandon Bello), Chantel Hendricks, Brandon Lilley, Allen Lilley, Angela Lilley, Paige Beam and Zoey Beaudry; great-grandchildren Leonard Pendleton, Lucinda Lilley, Kajun Lilley, Naomi Hendricks and Cassandra Ellsworth; sister-in-law Alice (Skip) Lilley of Au Gres, sisters Joyce Grush of Traverse City, Michigan and Marilyn Hendricks of Glennie, Michigan, who lovingly tended to their brother in the last days and weeks of his life; and many friends, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life service is planned for 11a.m., Monday November 11, 2019 at Lott Baptist Church, 4257 S.
