Clifford “Max” May
Age 86, of Standish, MI passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at home. He was born on March 23, 1931 in Owosso, MI to the late Clifford C. and Neva F. May (nee DeBarr). Max graduated from Corunna High School in 1945. He owned his own business and worked as a wholesale florist and greenhouse grower for 50 years. Max loved camping at Outdoor Adventure in Standish. He had a love for boating on the Great Lakes, owned many cabin cruisers and loved to troll for lake trout and salmon. He was also an avid bowler. Max was a Christian man who loved the Lord. He enjoyed volunteering at their church men’s breakfasts and food pantry distribution. Max also enjoyed his weekly visits with his friends for coffee. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorrene Marie May who he married in 1984 in Madison Heights, MI; step-children, Dawn Markell of Michigan, Brian Streeter of Florida, Stacey Holder of Iowa and David Streeter of Michigan; his children from his previous marriage, Larry May of California, Jerry May of California, Sheryl Meyer of Michigan, Terry Lafalce of Michigan, Barbara Woolford of Florida, Karil May of California and Mari Heath of Michigan; 1 brother and sister and 26 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Standish Free Methodist Church in Standish, MI with a memorial luncheon following the service.
