Obituary Notice

Chester “Tom” Thomas Pawlaczyk, age 76 of Au Gres, Michigan passed away Thursday morning, August 15, 2019 at his son’s home in Tawas Township, Michigan with family by his side.
Tom was born January 14, 1943 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Chester and Helen (Wilk) Pawlaczyk. He graduated from Au Gres Sims Schools and enlisted in the United States Army serving honorably for three years. Upon discharge, Tom attended Central Michigan University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree and then Master’s Degrees. Tom was an educator at Au Gres Sims Schools for 38 years, serving also as Athletic Director, Varsity Softball Coach, and junior high basketball coach for many years. He was a life-long hunter and outdoorsman, an avid fisherman, and a life member of the Arenac County Walleye Club. Tom also served as Au Gres Township Supervisor. He enjoyed playing golf, playing cards with friends, and socializing publicly.
Tom is survived by his sons, Matthew (Gypsy) Pawlaczyk of Tawas City, Michael (Trisha) Pawlaczyk of Ludington; grandchildren, Cole, Kathryn, Kaylee, Luke and Evelyn; sister, Marti (Russ) Sageman; brother, Donald (Bar) Pawlaczyk; nieces and nephews, Ron Pawlaczyk, Don Pawlaczyk, Andy Sageman, Denise Sageman, Marsha Brewer and Charlie Sageman. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Zachery Pawlaczyk.
