Obituary Notice

Carolyn E. Bohmier, age 75, of East Tawas, Michigan formerly of Redford, Michigan passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan.

Carolyn was born May 18, 1945 in Mount Clemens, Michigan to the late Bostwick Gore and Gladys (Atherton) Brown. Upon graduating high school she began a long time career as a manager with Kroger, Hamady, Carters, and Neiman’s retiring in 2009 after 35 years of dedicated service. Carolyn married Gordon Francis Bohmier on November 30, 1963 and together they raised one son, Duane. In her spare time, Carolyn enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle, golfing, gardening, sewing, and boating. She was a member of the AuSable Valley Audobon and Tawas Bay Garden Club.

Carolyn is survived by her fiance, John Gontarek; son, Duane (Tami) Bohmier; brothers, Ronald (Sandie Leidecker) Brown, William (Renee) Brown, Patrick (Kat) Brown; sister, Marilyn (Michael Johnston) McArt; grandchildren, Shelby (Steven) Nickels and James (Taylor) Bohmier; great granddaughter, Charlee Rae Nickels; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon in 2007; sister, Bonnie; brothers, Richard and Donald.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas, Michigan with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Tawas City, Michigan. Condolences may be shared at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com

I am sorry to hear of. Carol's passing. She was such a sweet lady and loved singing in the choir at church and working on the flower gardens there too.
