Bruce Owen Weishuhn, age 88, of Turner, Michigan passed away peacefully Thursday morning, January 16, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan with family by his side.
Bruce was born August 20, 1931 in Mason Township, Michigan to the late Chester W. and Lucy Celia (Basney) Weishuhn. Upon graduating high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps serving from 1951 – 1954 during the Korean Conflict. Upon discharge, he married the former Joyce Lorraine Schutte and together they raised three children, Terry, Rick, and Kathy. Bruce was a mechanic for many years and retired from General Motors in Flint in 1994. He enjoyed gardening at their retirement home in Turner, Michigan and being outdoors hunting or fishing, and tinkering in his garage.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; sons, Terry (Sue) Weishuhn, Rick (Madeline) Weishuhn; daughter, Kathy (Ken) Aylsworth; grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) Harris, Michael (Audrey) Weishuhn, Nathan Weishuhn, Olivia (Dan) Trudeau, David (Samantha) Weishuhn, Luke (Taylor) Weishuhn, Matthew Weishuhn, Benjamin Weishuhn, Nicole (Jason) Stanley, Chris Nottingham; great grandchildren, Owen and Maya, Jane and Margot, Daniel and David, Brandon, Mikayla and Ian, and Alana Rose; sister Gail Hiltz; sister-in-law, Darlene Rosser; brother-in-law, Fred (Vivian) Schutte; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by siblings, Burl, Clifford, Wilbur, Ada, Gladys, Opal, James, Frederick and Dorothy.
Visitation for Bruce will take place from 10-11:30 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2020 at Buresh Funeral Home, 101 East Michigan Avenue, Au Gres, Michigan 48703. Funeral ceremony with military honors will begin at 11:30 Monday at the funeral home with Deacon Amanda Carpenter officiating. According to Bruce’s wishes, cremation will follow.
