Bonnie was born on September 22, 1950 in Bay City to Barney and Ilene (Harder) Brooks. She graduated from Tawas High School with the class of 1968. Bonnie was the Dining Room Manager at Big Boy Restaurant for 24 years and developed so many friendships. In 2015, she decided to step away from the work force and enjoy her well-deserved retirement years! Bonnie will be always remembered for her love and passion for Disney World and the characters of Disney. This enthusiasm was such a passion in Bonnie’s life that her home was decorated with Disney themes and she would also display a Christmas Tree filled with Disney Christmas ornaments! Each year, Bonnie and her husband, Harold, would travel to and enjoy the many wonders Disney has to offer including trips to Disney World and Disney Cruises! Bonnie also would spend countless hours crocheting and canoeing with her family and friends down the AuSable River. She was a faithful and devout Christian woman who attended the First Baptist Church of Tawas City. Bonnie married her husband and best friend, Harold on January 6, 1967, and together they have celebrated 51 beautiful years of marriage! She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. Bonnie is survived by her loving husband, Harold Bukoski of East Tawas, Michigan; 3 children, Harold (Angel) Bukoski of Omaha, Nebraska, Michael Bukoski (Mark Staszewski) of Winter Park, Florida, and Kristina (Chanthai) Insixiengmay of Bay City, Michigan; 1 grandson, Kyle Bukoski of Homestead, Florida; 1 brother, Richard (Susan) Brooks of Homer, Alaska; and many special friends. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, Barney and Ilene Brooks. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Charles Donajkowski officiating. Bonnie’s family will welcome friends for visitation at the church on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral. I will miss my best friend terribly! We worked together for several years and became Iike sisters. Our husbands, being military, didn’t allow us to always be with our families during Holidays. Our families became “Family”. We all did so much together. We especially loved playing pinochle. We visited with each other daily, either in person or on the phone. We had a blast doing Hands Across America. I can’t begin to list all th good times we had together! Her kids were our kids and my kids were her kids. There are few gifts as good as having such a loving and caring friend. I will truly cherish all the times we shared. I love you Bonnie and I love your family. Til me meet again....
