My Aunt Bertha was the most special aunt anybody could ever ask for. My father was Aunt Bertha's brother and my mom never had any brothers or sister, and she always said aunt Bertha was her sister she never had. We went up north to be with their family every weekend. I went every summer and stayed on the farm with them. Aunt Bertha loved life, children and had the patience like nobody else I have ever met. She could do anything and make a home out of any place they moved too. We are going to miss her but do know she is in heaven with all the family who have been waiting for her. We love you Aunt Bertha. Love Ken and Donna Schwan

Grandma was an amazing woman. I have so many special memories as a child and as an adult of time spent with grandma. One of my favorite memories as a child was calling grandma at Kochers from school and asking to walk to the store after school to go home to spend the night with grandma and grandpa, never once was I told no. As a very young adult grandma was once again there for me when I married and was expecting our first baby; decorating a beautiful wedding cake, bringing over boxes of homemade canned goods and dozens of baby diapers! Our road trip to see granadma's sister in law in Missiouri, which grandma made the majority of the trip in the back seat with a lamp that she found at an antique store, that mom and I could not talk her out of!Grandma's first time flying when mom and I took her to Florida to visit her baby sister, Doris Jean. The memories are endless and grandma will be dearly missed. Love you Grandma!
