A memorial mass will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 415 South Court Street, Au Gres, Michigan 48703. Arlene’s family will greet friends and neighbors at the church from 10:00 until the time of the ceremony at Noon. She will be laid to rest at a later date in Sims-Whitney Township Cemetery in Au Gres, Michigan. Arlene Marie DeKett, age 93, of Au Gres, Michigan passed away February 27, 2020 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan.

Arlene was born September 29, 1926 in Flint, Michigan to the late Robert C. and Mary FV (Harris) Dibble. She graduated from Sterling High School in May 1945. On September 10, 1946, Arlene married Arnold DeKett. Together they shared 55 years of marriage prior to his passing in January 2000. Arlene was an active member in the Au Gres community where she enjoyed bowling, crocheting and sewing, shopping and casino trips, baking, golfing and always volunteering when someone needed a helping hand. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church where she also served as a eucharistic minister, a member of the Lioness Club of Au Gres, and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

Arlene is survived by her daughter, Linda Morgan; granddaughters, Marcy (Rod) Nechvil, Melissa (Victor) Raso, Nicole Morgan, and Mary Morgan; sister, Maudie March; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Arlene was preceded in death by sisters Theda and Lillian.
