Obituary Notice

Allan A. McDonald, Age 84, of Hale, MI passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, October 27, 2016.

Allan was born June 30, 1932 in Detroit, MI to the late Allan and Margaret (McPhail) McDonald. He married Brenda McDonald on August 25, 1984 in Warren, Michigan.

Mr. McDonald was a Korean War Veteran. He retired to Hale, MI in 1998 after over 22 years of service at Michigan Bell in Roseville. He was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Hale where he served as a lector, usher, and altar server, and volunteered for many of the church activities.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Fraternali of Hale; four children, Judy (Michael) Shoemaker of Macomb Twp, Allan (Cheri) McDonald of Yale, Margaret (John) O’Connor of Memphis, and Patricia (Daniel) Sikora of Avoca; 11 grandchildren, Adam and Anthony Lesterson, Nicole Wojtowicz, Yvonne (Tim) Howland, Charlie (Brittney) Jewell, Jaclyn and Kaitlyn Bauer, Laura (Donald) Yochim, John O’Connor, Nicholas and Seth Sikora; 10 great-grandchildren, Alissa Matheney, Cheyanna and Kyle Mitchell, Brad and Brienna Spalsbury, Chloie and Sophia Howland, Rosalie Jewell, Madison Beckman, and Sierra Yochim; his brother Thomas (Patty) McDonald and sister Sally McDowell; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Martha McDonald; two children, Donna Jewell and James McDonald; grandson Joseph Wells; and two sisters, Eileen Kuhn and Margaret Smoots.

Mr. McDonald will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. The Reverend Joseph Ortega will officiate.
