Matthew W. Buresh Manager and Licensed Funeral Director

Matt grew up in Oscoda, MI and graduated from Oscoda High School. He later graduated from Michigan State University earning degrees in Biochemistry and Psychology. Matt attended Medical School at MSU before switching careers to the family funeral business. He later graduated Valedictorian from Wayne State University while earning a degree in Mortuary Science. He received the Beaver Edwards Restorative Art Award. Matt is a bank board director for Huron Community Bank, board member of Tawas St. Joseph Hospital and Huron Hockey and Skating Association. He is also a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas. Matt is an avid golfer and enjoys playing and coaching several sports including J.V. Football, hockey and baseball. He is lives in East Tawas with his wife Susan, son Mason (9 years old) and Madison (5 years old).

 

Edward “Greg” Buresh, III Manager and Licensed Funeral Director

Greg returned to the Buresh-Bennett Funeral Home in 2001 after establishing his career as General Manager with a large Oakland County funeral home. He graduated from Oscoda High School in 1977. He received a Bachelor of Arts in business from Michigan State University in 1981, and license to practice mortuary science from Wayne State University Department of Mortuary Science in 1982. He has been a licensed funeral director for over 25 years. The Michigan Institute of Funeral Professionals has designated Greg a certified Michigan Funeral Practitioner. He is a Certified and State Licensed Preplanning Consultant, a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, the Michigan Funeral Directors Association and the Michigan Embalmers Society. He is also a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Hale. Greg lives in Hale with his wife Anna, they have two sons.

 

Anna M. Buresh, Manager and  Licensed Funeral Director.

Anna has been with Buresh-Bennett Funeral Home since 2001. She graduated from North Farmington High School in 1980, and received her Bachelor of Science in mortuary science from Wayne State University in 2001. She is a Certified and State Licensed Preplanning Consultant, a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, the Michigan Funeral Directors Association and the Michigan Embalmers Society. Anna grew up in Oakland County and has been working in funeral service since 1993. She is also a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Hale. Anna lives in Hale with her husband Greg, they have two sons.

 

 Don Hanson Manager and Licensed Funeral Director

Don Hanson lives in Tawas City with his wife Nicole and their two children, Everett and Ellie. Don has been a resident of the Tawas Area since 2000. He graduated from Spring Arbor University in 1998 and then attended Wayne State University for Mortuary Science , graduating in 1999. On his spare time, Don enjoys sports, hunting, exercise, and spending time with his family and friends. He is involved with the Tawas Area Lions Club, Tawas Knights of Columbus #2709, and is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas.

 
Amy L. Riffel Office Manager

Buresh & Kobs Funeral Home – Tawas City, Michigan

Amy has worked for the funeral home as an office manager for the past five years. She grew up in Saginaw, MI and graduated from Douglas McArthur High School. She is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oscoda. She enjoys to cook, travel and spend time enjoying her daughter’s involvement with dance, Tee ball and soccer. Amy lives in Oscoda with her husband Dave and 5 year old daughter Hannah.
